Growing up with fresh picked and home canned vegetables, along with made pies - rhubarb, apple, and berry pies, toffee, caramel, fudge, and yes - ice cream, inspires Ed to bring this same love of food to the neighbourhood.
 
When he was living in Boston, he happily discovered a shop making their own ice cream so he could get his fix every day after work. Once in Toronto, he was disappointed in the store made market and so the idea for Ed's was born.

Ed's is always trying new recipes and ways to prepare and serve our favourite treats. Store made products change daily and reflect seasonal themes and flavours.
 
Ed Francis is inspired by his own Mom and Dad, and how tough it was to raise a family of 5 children after World War II in the 1940s and 1950s. They grew their own food and nearly everything they ate was made at home. Mom also had a sweet tooth and home made treats was a way she brought her kids an extra bit of happiness.
Ed's Real Scoop satisfies the sweet tooth in all of us by making the highest quality home made ice cream, gelato, chocolates, and treats right in the stores.
The Beaches location is in its 11th year, and in 2009 was joined with a new store in Leslieville, preparing the same great products from scratch in neighbourhoods we love!
 
 
 
 
After a walk in the Beaches or Leslieville, come in for a yummy waffle cone, filled with your favourite ice cream, gelato or sorbet. Or have a steamy cup of hot chocolate, made from Belgian Callebaut chocolate.
 
Products change with the seasons, so warm, hot or chilly outside, come and see what's "in store" for you to enjoy on the spot or to take home.
